Comedy bio!
Suni started doing comedy in front of her late sister, probably around the age of 8, imitating family members, school teachers and classmates. But she officially began studying improv at the Peoples Improv Theatre in 2009, right before she decided to become a mother (hilarious!). Suni continued her comedy studies at the Upright Citizens Brigade, all while raising a child with no money (fun!). Suni was able to complete the advanced improv and sketch programs thank to the theatre's Diversity Scholarship Program, she also won the PIT/NBC Improv for Diversity Scholarship in 2009, and was a finalist at the 2012 UCB/NBC Diversity Showcase.
She was a member of UCB Maude Team's "BUNDT", "Roanoke" and "Mamas Gotta Go", and was in the cast of the acclaimed sketch show "Detective Sully" written by Alexis Pereira. She's also starred in several viral videos with Funny or Die, Above Average, and UCB Comedy, and her work as a writer and comedian has been featured on Mas Mejor, Remezcla, NBC's Visiones, and Latino Rebels.
She's performed in cool comedy festivals, like: Del Close Marathon, New York City Sketch Festival, DAF, The ONE Festival, SoloCom, Harlem Comedy Festival and Boston Comedy Arts Festival.
Suni is also a well regarded sketch director, and has directed sketch teams at UCB, The Magnet Theatre, and The PIT. Her biggest accomplishment is still her PERFECT son, who is as old as her comedy career!
